The Lighthouse
Willem Dafoe and Robert Patterson in this movie are absolutely astonishing. This is by far some of the best acting I have seen them do. Since they are isolated and it is in black and white, it really gives the opportunity for these actors to really let their skills take the front seat. The shift of emotions, long acts of rage, and much more allow these amazing actors to do what they do best. Robert Eggers also does a great job with the camera work. It is rare to see that work in modern movies and it was used to its max potential. The story was very compelling watching these two men go into insanity, but it was done with a twist compared to other movies. You truly felt a sense of isolation watching this movie, which I can’t say I felt for others.
