Pan's Labyrinth
I fucking love Guillermo del Toro, this is the perfect definition of a fantasy movie inside the real world, what a masterpiece and so beautiful to see that it's a Spanish speaking movie, it makes me feel way more connected to the original characters.
I saw people saying that the characters writing is lame, especially Ofelia, but I think it's the complete opposite, in a movie where fascist are who dominate your living place, they are the oned that place the rules, and for a 10 year old kid that her closest connection are anti-fascist people, she associates following rules to everything that is wrong in her life (which is true in fascism), so it isn't crazy that Ofelia can't follow the rule of not eating anything, she is not going to be like "oh yeah, I'm just gonna do everything you tell me without hesitating".
Easily one of my favourite movies of all time.
