The Shining
Throughout the movie I have been noticing that the color red acts as a harbinger of death, a warning, of metaphorical scenes that act dangerously in the plot, both on stage and in clothing, this narrative touch is honestly incredible for the movie to still be most impressive. Like when Jack is surrounded by a crowd and a waiter drops his drink on him, so wearing a red colored jacket (he usually wore it since he started with the severely weird and violent acts of attitude), this represents bloodshed. then, since the supposed waiter is the murderer of decades ago (Delbert Grady), he takes him to the bathroom to clean his jacket, this part is very strong in the plot, it is the murderer talking to the next murderer, following as "his legacy", he advises him badly, and Jack at this moment is his violence break, his mind is totally cloudy and he is going to kill absolutely everyone, also another important detail is that the bathroom is also red, a similarity very good and something that they have chosen perfectly in this scene. Another important detail of red, is the red hat of Mr. Dick Halloran (the chef), this represents and it is easy to intuit, his death, when I saw him for the first time entering the door and that red hat, I already intuited I was going to die and that's exactly what happened. There are a lot of details with this Omen of Red that I could go on writing, but this seems to me to be the most remarkable, like Jack's jacket, which also has the omen acting on it, Jack dying.
