Nostalgia
I won't lie, for the first half I had no idea what Tarkovsky was trying to tell me. But as the film unfolded, everything slowly started falling into place.
By the end, I wasn't thinking about the plot anymore. I was thinking about the themes, the isolation, the homesickness, the longing for a place that feels impossibly far away. The dialogues, and the quiet moments somehow say the most.
It's one of those films that becomes more beautiful the more you sit with it. I can already tell this is a movie I'll appreciate even more on a rewatch.
