Alien: Romulus

holy yap incoming 😛 ive seen people complaining about this film being too fan servicey, but as someone who hasnt seen alien in over a year and remembers very very little of it😭 its still an amazing standalone film. fede alvarez was such a good choice of director for this film and really really makes it, and i need him to get more horror films NOW the sound design was insane, im so jealous of anyone who got to see this in cinemas because holy shit. anything from how the xenomorphs sound, how space sounds, to the soundtrack sounds overwhelming in the best way  the performances given are so good but cailee spaeny and david jonsson are standouts, andy really feels like a completely separate character after his 'possession' by the company and jonsson nails it (i pray he stays in the genre🙏🙏) funnily enough the scariest and most suspenseful scenes dont even come from the xenomorphs imo, the facehuggers are really terrifying in this, when one is taken off of navarro and the long appendage just keeps coming out of her mouth nearly made me gip. the birth of the freaky offspring too (which had an amazing design and reminded me of keeper's things and barbarian's mother) was so fucking vile. the entire final sequence from its birth to death was so good and an amazing end to the film.
