Trainspotting
Trainspotting is just a really great movie, plain and simple. Everything about it works, the acting, the storytelling, the cinematography. There’s not much to complain about. One scene that really stuck with me is when Renton is stuck at home going through withdrawal; the way it’s shot and paced is absolutely fantastic, uncomfortable in the best possible way. The film has this effortlessly stylish, almost exaggerated and mental energy to it, but it never loses its sense of realism. It’s chaotic and funny and horrifying all at once, yet it feels grounded in a way that makes it hit even harder. It’s one of those films that manages to be bold and wild without ever feeling fake, and that balance is what makes it so memorable.
