lover of all things silly and disturbing in the midst of an extensive mcu rewatch that's also not a rewatch because i remember everything vaguely.. getting there! also patching up my reviews a bit!!

> "This fighting... That's not why we are here, to fight. We have a responsibility. This, I have always thought, is a remarkable thing about democracy. That we are... What is the word? Notified. That we are notified by mail to come down to this place to decide on the guilt or innocence of a man we have never heard of before. We have nothing to gain or lose by our verdict. This is one of the reasons why we are strong. We should not make it a personal thing. Thank you." Absolutely brilliant. Watching this in the summer for atmospheric immersion must be a nightmare. I have to do it.

> "Well, we certainly don't need to sit down for lunch and get clubbed for it. But we do need our roots, don't we? And where our roots are, our home is. Wouldn't you say? ...Home, to me, is home. My family is my family. And whatever problems they've got, I've got 'em too."

> "If you're nothing without the suit, then you shouldn't have it." The Captain America fitness challenge being required by the state is so crazy, actually. I know Chris loved doing those. One of my favorite things in Marvel movies (or superhero movies in general) is when we get to see the main events of the universe from an 'outsider's' perspective. The mascot constantly being late to every event was funny. He's so geeky, it's great. The countless references made, the jokes, and Peter's awkwardness were so great, unfortunately, the audience was applauding and cackling. The audience was me. Donald Glover being Aaron Davis... it really meant a lot to me, that was awesome. Nephew..? Tony and Peter's relationship is so sweet, too. Poor Avengers Tower has been through it whenever it's on screen. I do agree with the argument that it's unfair that the Avengers do so much damage and other people have to clean it up (which brings us back to one of the points of Civil War), but also, what do we expect them to do?? They have bigger things to worry about, and it's not like SHIELD doesn't actively handle clean up situations on their own. Though citizens dealing with the damage absolutely sucks, at least they're not entirely on their own..? That's a plus. Yes, they have a right to be upset, however. I know I would be. Anyways, this is a beautiful love letter and proper introduction to Peter. He's just a dude. So nice. P.S. HI PEPPER!!
