dude mark duplass is so good at improvising, there was no written script for this so it’s just him and sarah paulson riffing off each other the whole time as high school sweethearts meeting out of the blue 20 years later. there’s got to be some inspo from dan fogelberg’s christmas song ‘same old lang syne’ it’s so similar how it starts. this is one of those movies where the characters meet randomly, go about their way, decide to keep talking, you’re hoping the whole time they can keep coming up with reasons to hang out longer, they do, you’re wondering when it’s going to finally have to end. this is a rewatch but I actually forgot that it ends that way. doing a lot of really sad movies lately and loving it so comment some more recs below pls
