A Separation
Great film that reminded me a lot like The Hunt (which I absolutely loved). I admired how the film had morally grey characters with each of them having their own flaws, without their being a clear antagonist. I was very impressed by Hatami’s subtle expressions, and the shame Hosseini was able to bring in his role. I also really liked how the film started at a fast, tense pace in the courtroom, making you feel like you were experiencing the tension with Hatami and Maadi.
