IM STILL CRYING i really dont know if this was the right way to start 2020. on one hand, this is such a good movie. it’s such a powerful story about family, balanced with the suspense of a good horror story. the performances were fantastic (definitely oscar-worthy in the case of toni collette which SUCKS because she was snubbed 😤). the visuals were great, probably one of my favourite-looking movies in a while. i love the miniature aesthetic that they used. and the editing and transitions were wonderful. on the other hand, however, i was so not ready for anything that this movie had presented me with. at all. great way to start 2020? perhaps?
