The movie felt like it had so much depth. I was shocked how easy it was to understand Charlie even though i luckily can't relate to his past. The movie made me feel many emotions, especially sad. I love the music. Very good movie and I like the way it is filmed. However I am not the biggest fan of all of the voice-overs. And the cheating and the relationship with Mary Elizabeth dont make the movie better. Even though the cheating Szene is important "We accept the love we think we deserve." Is so good. Makes me want to read and write
Honestly I am not sure what to write. I am unsure why I enjoyed this movie so much. It was my first b&w movie but this did definitely not make it worse. Maybe even better. I don't know if the rating i saw before watching has any influence. But I actually enjoyed every second of this movie. I loved how every man had its part in the movie and was shown with careful detail. Also how diffrent they all were. Strangers that only met once because of a murder case. The case was also very intriguing and made me want to find out if he was guilty or not and how the evidence might not be evident enough. And all of this in only one room. One might think that can't be exciting. But at no time did I lose interest or think this is unnecessary. Also the shots were well placed in only a single room. Loved the movie!
First of all i love the composition, lighting and colour of the movie. It looked really good even though it was somewhat simple. The Story was also moving and especially his youth was very sad. I also enjoyed the acting a lot. However I felt like there were bits missing and I am not sure if i love the jumps between the ages. Overall great looking movie with a moving story.
I do not know what just happend. This whole film is pure confusion. I love it though. And the plot twist every couple of minutes believing in a completely different reality is amazing. Also the way the movie is shot with a mix of black and white and colour. And the acting was great. For me the ending also made it way better. Only thing that doesn't make it perfect was that I had the feeling for a short time at the beginning that some things felt too repetitive.
I love this movie. Just watched 5h of Avatar to get ready to watch Avatar 3 soon. And it was worth it! First of all I love the visuals of this movie so much. Evan though this time I did not watch it on a big screen in the movie theatre it still looked amazing. I also really enjoyed the acting. Especially Sam worthington and Zoe Saldaña were very good. The movie made me feel so many things an so intense. Sad, happy, and astounded by the landscape. At the same time the movie reflects so much of reality. Burning our forests, killing the beautiful animals we have and destroying everything. What i wasn't a big fan of was the storyline itself. I felt the constant chase between Jake sully and the colonel feels so longwinded and too much. Especially that it feels like they should not be alive after all that. I also didn't love all the acting of the humans. It felt so put on and not quite authentic. This also does not feel like the same 4 star as the first but both definitely deserve it. This one more however because of the visuals and the first movie more because of the story and idea. Sometimes I feel like I need something between 3,5 and 4. This movie however stays one of my best cinema experiences ever
Did enjoy watching this movie. Like the suspense and the idea of the movie. Solving a crime but being clueless until the end. With some good hints throughout the movie. However I am not a fan of the theme itself. Of some stupid rich people coming to an island with rich people problems. Also not too impressed by some of the frames and some of the acting. Kind of felt too much and unnecessary.
Just finished over 3 hours in the cinema. Really enjoyed the movie and I would say it is better than I expected. Evan though the main story was so similar to Avatar 2. It felt very different. I enjoyed the many layers that were in the movie. Of villains and heroes and diffrent emotions that it made you feel. Again so much sadness. The visuals were AMAZING again. Watched it in 3D which I really enjoyed however I am not sure if it is better than in 2D. Really impressed by Zoe Saldañas acting. Definitely my favourite of the movie. Also liked the new tribe and their background and the air traders. However what I would criticise is the close similarity to Avatar 2 and that the movie felt a bit too long in the last fighting scenes. Compared to the other two I would actually say this was my favourite but only very close in front of Avatar 1 closely followed by Avatar 2. Going to the cinema after a long time was great.
First of all I have to say this has to be the best cast Donald Petrie could have chosen. The acting, the chemistry and the looks are just perfect. And this movie looks so good. The kinda old look with some amazing lighting just made most of the movie felt exactly like the story was making you feel. The golden tone of many of the frames were great. I also really enjoyed the story itself with the two liars. The end I thought might turn out bad. But I was surprised by how well Donald Petrie made the story come to a close. The exposing of their story and the scene on the bridge were very good. The movie also was quite funny. However the Poker scene was actually so weird. Additionally knowing that a lot of scenes were improvised makes it even better. There is not really anything I can criticise. I saw some people saying they thought it has a very obvious outcome and the film was too clichè like. But I didn't really feel that this was the case and it especially didn't make it worse. So I actually see this being a 5 star. Best romcom.
The movie was enjoyable. I did like some of the racing scenes with good visuals and the end was thrilling. However I don't really think it was that great. The acting was good but not outstanding and I don't know why but I feel like Brad Pitt as good as he is did not feel like the perfect fit for the movie. Did like Damson Idris though. Also thought so many of the comments and conversations felt so wierd. Especially the ones in the end of the movie("He's flying"). Not a fan. Also the whole story itself wasn't that great it felt so similar to other Joseph Kosinski movies. Also didn't really like most of the lighting which felt so harsh and more like a documentary. The movie did feel too long halfway through with 1 hour left to go. Even though I did criticise a lot I still had fun watching this and would recommend it. I also can not say much about the F1 aspects but they did still felt somewhat good. Excluding the unrealistic parts with some big crashes and radio conversations.
Such a thrilling and high tension movie. The story is impressive. Diving so deep into politics, institutional corruption and U.S. interventionism with the backdrop of drug wars is incredible. Also including the protagonist the woman that is helpless but yet so strong. The shots in the movie excell its storytelling. Using calm shots during combat scenes creating so much tensions. And using framing to make it feel realistic and give you the feeling of looking through the eyes of the actors. Occasionally showing blood and dead people to make it even more uncomfortable. Also the natural lighting and sunset/moon scenes give it a realistic feel. I also have to praise the acting every bit of this was so good and authentic. I would say the only reason for me that it is not a 5/5 is that it some characters felt like they did not serve enough for the story's progression and after the switch to Alejandro the other characters story's felt too unfinished. Such a thrilling movie. Praise to Deins Villeneuve.
