28 Days Later
Getting to watch this for the first time in the cinema was a life changing experience. 28 Days later has been a film that I was always fascinated by (mainly how hard it was to find online and on physical media). It's been awhile that a film has made me feel that stressed out (that isn't a Safdie bro film). Definitely watching a horror like this in the cinema adds to the experience. Some scenes in this film are just beautiful that made me nearly tear up, scenes that filled me with fear and dread, scenes that made me feel revolted and sick. At the end of the day 28 Days Later is a film about humans and the lengths there willing to go to do what they think it best no matter how selfish or immoral it might be. There are characters that are more soulless as the zombies. The whole cast was phenomenal but the legendary Cillian Murphy was the highlight. Such a masterful way of filming the film using a Cannon XL1 Camcorder which made the film feel like lost archive footage adding to the fear. Boyle did a fantastic job as director and Garlands writing was chefs kiss. A brilliant cinema experience watching it with my home boy Finn (we cuddle and watch smack dvd)
