Wow. Wow. Wow. Another Tarkovsky masterpiece that actually tops his other one. This is most likely my second favorite film now. This is so hypnotic and so transportive. 2 hours and 40 minutes felt like nothing. The three characters bounce off each other so nicely and the film thrives with them. Not only that but the visuals also absolutely stun in every single shot. The Zone itself absolutely blows me away and is one of my favorite sci fi ideas ever. This film doesn’t have anything that isn’t some of the best ever. The quietness fits so well and the nature visuals and sounds really shine heavy. It’s so hard to explain a film like this especially with such rich symbolism I’m sure I missed too. This is unbelievable. This is genuinely what everyone told me it was. Everyone told me it would be my favorite film ever and it wasn’t too far from it. Absolutely blew me away at every moment and everything came together to build one of the greatest cinematic achievements ever. I am so trapped inside The Zone. I’m trying to think of what else to really say but it’s impossible to really put an experience and film like this into actual real life words. I will never ever recover from this.
