Hamnet
Jessie Buckley is truly superb, I felt that the emotional weight of this film was entirely on her shoulders, the navigation of grief in the character Agnes is striking. Her portrayal left me reeling, as I am writing this review, I still feel it, even now, hours after I have watched it. Her choices were so intentional and they hit every single mark for me. This film is an exploration of grief. It is grief intertwined with creation, memory and memorial, grief so profound it can not sit still, it moves through time, through the tragedy of Hamlet. William Shakespeare's works in many ways are as ubiquitous as the English language itself (they are one and the same). What a wonderful eulogy, what a way to be remembered.
