Good moments and references but honestly the whole thing just feels masturbatory for sacha baron cohen. He’s written to be the hero in a movie where he simply is not. His character growth is unconvincing and some of the events of the story are painfully horrific to sit through in that the writing choices are dreadful and self satisfied. This is not the movie sacha baron cohen thinks it is.

Rewatched Andor and then followed the last episode immediately with this. Made it better in a lot of ways but also worse - left me wanting things I’d never have considered otherwise.

It’s really well done - feels like an episode of the show in all the ways it should.

This took over an hour to get interesting - the last half an hour was decent but it was arduous to get there. There were some funny bits and some good performances but it’s not enough to rescue this movie from its first two acts.
