Batman
Batman, to this day, is still an incredible take on the Dark Knight. You can feel the age sometimes, mostly with the stop-motion shields of the Batmobile and some of the backgrounds, but even then, it's filled to the brim with incredible effects and stellar set design. The nightmarish take on Gotham is constantly stunning, and the Batsuit is the best ever, even if it is too stiff. Michael Keaton's Batman is so stylized that it ensures the film is timeless, even if I sometimes think Burton didn't get the memo that Bruce Wayne isn't actually a man-bat hybrid. He just has so much personality as Wayne that it may sometimes be odd how little everyone knows about him, but a lot of that just adds to it. Jack Nicholson's Joker is obviously great and a constant joy, and up to that point, with the exception of Reeve's Superman, was the truest-to-comics approach to a character. And how could you talk about the film without mentioning Elfman's phenomenal score? It's still the best Batman score of all time, only rivaled by Shirley Walker's score for Mask of The Phantasm. The one annoyance I have with the film’s character’s is that of Gordon is entirely unrecognizable there's no sense that he's the same person from the comics, but luckily, they don't focus on him too much. I loved this movie when I was younger, and I've only grown to love it more as I've gotten older.
