Upon going back through my Letterboxd account I realized I often overrated older films just because they’re nostalgic or important to film history when they weren’t really that great of a watch. This one’s very different from that. This is a monster of a film at almost 3.5 hours of runtime and it’s really got a lot of great things going on. It’s honestly a shock how well this compares to some American movies from the time. The little halftime break really got me I can’t lie.
