The opening and closing shots of this movie is what takes it away for me in the beginning Nick starts to express his emotions and feelings when his therapist brings up the beach which is cut off by Connie convincing nick that he’s better than the therapist and that he doesn’t need him then at the end he shows the same attitude that he doesn’t belong in the class and the Safdie brothers show this by showing how Nick looks at the other autistic people and not choosing to participate but once the other therapist says “have you ever gotten in trouble for something that wasn’t your fault” and when she says this it makes him realize that he was being used and he was more welcomed with them then he ever was with his brother. Perfect start and finish love this film
