hereditary mentioned invincible mentioned talk to me mentioned parasite mentioned this was incredible. the perfect balance of tense horrifying stomach dropping scenes, to the old hag being gratuitously ripped apart. the entire theater was laughing during that chase. a wonderful way to end the movie. also, i liked how the kids were invincible jumping through more than enough windows. every character was absolutely incredible. i will say that i saw brian tyree henry was supposed to play andrew.. i think he would have been a lot better. julia garner was incredible, everything i’ve seen her in she is. josh brolin was great. i would have loved for him to take a little more inspiration from hugh jackman in prisoners but still he was great. amy madigan had me horrorstruck the entire time. every scene with her felt like seeing annabelle for the first time when i was 15. cary christopher made me shrink in my seat about the situatuon alex was in and how alex’s life is basically fucked now. ummmm JUSTIN LONG?!?! BAHAHAHAHAHA i went into this 90% blind and it paid off. i also went into barbarian blind and it paid off. i’m really excited to see what more zach cregger has to offer. i LOVE the way the story was told. when i first realized thats how it was being told i was a little nervous that i would get bored with the story told over again and was concerned that the ending wouldn’t payoff. it did. i expected this movie to be a lot scarier. i thought that it would be in the same drama category of hereditary and prisoners. the comedy really wrapped it all together like a big ol ribbon. i also think that if justin long played paul’s role as the cop it may have been too funny. in a good way. i think that the gruesome deaths and gore in this movie stand out. its not my favorite effects in a horror movie, but somehow in every death/gore scene you think “ooooo shiiit! ahh i didnt think they would show that..” to “OH SHIT THEY DID.” very rewarding to see what you were imagining. i am very curious to see a version of this movie without the humor aspect. like a grittier solemn version that leaves you fucked up. but the way that creggers did it, was incredible. definitely one of the top three 2025 movies so far. #BRINGINGWEAPONSTOTHETHEATER #PULLINGOUTWEAPONSATTHETHEATER #ITSNOTANAKEDGUN #IMCREGNANT #IHAVEAWEAPON anyways, now onto war of the worlds 2025.
