The Lighthouse

‘Tis a perfect movie! This is my first rewatch of the movie ever since I watched it in December of 2019, and now, 5 years later, I can definitely say that I have liked it a lot more than the first time. It is also interesting that I watched the same movie in the same place as the last time, and the only variable that changed for me loving this movie this time was me. This is all not to say that I disliked it the first time; only the 14-year-old and 19-year-old me are two very different people who have very different tastes. Funnily enough, this time around I felt a coziness while watching it that made me feel feelings that contrasted those that both Toms were feeling, and I believe that is what made it oh so great. Not to mention the gorgeous cinematography and old-timey dialogue that contribute to enhancing this movie from simple entertainment to an experience, and an experience that I very much enjoyed and will gladly have again.
