I can't tell if this movie is a genius meta commentary or just misses the whole point it's trying to make. On one hand we can treat it as a jab at the educational and parental system, stuffing all these kids into the boxes that the system thinks they should be in and disregarding what they would rather be; assuming that punishing them will fix every issue they have while all the time it's a positional power abuse and no matter the punishment, no matter how much they all realize what they could or rather be like, they end up as the same way as before on Monday. In which case I would actually consider it a decent movie. But what it instead comes off as is some sort of "we are all like eachother" and it just misses the point completely by making all the kids complete stereotypes that add absolutely nothing to the story whatsoever, even the realization itself doesn't change how they percieve eachother in any way, sort of becoming a teacher's wet dream where they pat themselves on the back and say "I knew these kids were problematic!". So yeah, I guess I don't get this movie but regardless it left me feeling nothing.
