Logan
I will quite literally never recover from this.
Scattered amongst a large quantity of cheesy and bad superhero movies of the 2010s, there’s a few that really leave a lasting impression on me and this is hands down one of them, if not THE one of them.
While I’ve been making my way through the X-Men franchise there has been one main thing I have yearned for, and that’s violence. This takes my wants and pushes them to a level I was never expecting, it contains some of the best and most violent fight scenes I’ve ever seen in a superhero movie and it was done SO well.
This is hands down the best X-Men film, no doubt, and I loved Days of Future Past. But this does so much more with the characters and creates this seriously thrilling, emotional and ridiculously heartbreaking experience. Logan takes on this Last of Us esc challenge as he experiences the struggles of illness, pain itself and fatherhood which gives him the perfect send off to his character.
I know Hugh Jackman has been playing this character for years now but I’m really on the fence if I think he should play him again. It’s also made me fully realise how stupid Deadpool and Wolverine was to make, still enjoyed it though.
“So this is what it feels like?” Fuck off.
