Sinners
The hype is real people.
Sinners is a technical masterpiece on every single level, the score is unmatched, it contains some of the best editing I’ve ever seen and it looks brilliant at almost every minute. It’s riddled with these outstanding devilish and satanic themes that only enhance the quality’s here.
This really reminded me of a Robbert Eggers movie at times, it felt like the brilliant Ryan Coogler has took something that he feels a real passion for and crafted this mystical experience that feel so rooted to the African American experience in the early 20th century while also feeling so authentic within its vampire elements.
This is a real possibility to be Michael B.Jordans best performance too, I adore him in the Creed films but he is really quite special here as he really embraces this cool swagger that should come with someone written as well as the ruthless ‘Smokestack Twins’. I’m also a huge fan of Jack O’Connell and I feel like he really just makes everything he’s in that bit better and this is probably the best example of that, he is fucking brilliant and terrifying as he sets himself in stone as one of the best Horror villains of recent times.
