i think i’ve noticed a pattern with nolan’s filmography. i think his films demand a rewatch. the first watch feels like trying to keep up; the second is when you finally get to see the bigger picture. i already know i’ll like inception even more the next time because now i actually know what i’m looking at. and that seems to apply to most of his other films i’ve watched so far. anywho, i can’t believe it took me this long to really get into nolan’s films. here i am, absolutely bamboozled and ready to let this man rearrange my brain for the foreseeable future. better late than never, i guess.

first of all, wow. (best believe i’m fighting the urge to write a funny and witty one liners cause trust me when i say i’ve got lots.) anyways, i have so many things to say but i’ll leave it for when i rewatch this masterpiece again. but here’s something until then: okay, my favorite part wasn’t even the scale. it was how every choice had consequences that stayed with the characters instead of disappearing after the next scene, i feel like it definitely made the whole journey feel exhausting in the best way. i have to say, the film made me realize that the odyssey isn’t about getting home, it’s about everything you lose trying to. also, the cinematography?? like hello?? it felt like watching a painting come to life. i hope i get to experience this masterpiece in imax one day. (i love you, nolan) lastly, *“what you want most is what you most can't have.* *and what you most can't have, is what you already had, then lost." * > i absolutely adore this line because it says something most of us already know but rarely admit. the thing we ache for most is something we once held without knowing it would disappear. maybe that’s why some memories stay with us forever, not because we can’t move on, but because there’s no way back. for me, its the version of myself that only exists in my memory now. sometimes the hardest thing to accept is that the place our hearts keeps trying to return to no longer exists anywhere except in our memory. *“the power of the sacrifice is in the cost of the person making it.” "it was a song of all the promises i failed to keep." 💔*
