Kill
THE biggest risk this movie takes is the title card drop (and the preceding murder) and even that is formulaic and trope-y at best (lazy and a way to get out of writing female characters at worst). Lakshya is lowkey giving generational action hero by not emoting much and having a great body and the fight scenes were pretty fun, especially when he uses the fire extinguisher and it creates atmosphere. Raghav Juyal is pretty great too but overall this movie doesn't have a lot of substance. Seen people praising it simply because it reminds them of some other Hollywood action movie and I'm afraid that's not good enough for me.
I'm not saying I didn't enjoy it or that a movie has to have a "message" to be good (I could say that but I'm not saying it right now). I just wish they would've chosen a lane to stick to - either super heavy, dramatic, moments that question the necessity of revenge or suuuper stylish and well-shot but super light in terms of emotions and drama. Right now, it wasn't stylish enough for me to make up for the lack of writing. Again, good movie but it could've been generation had they taken some risks with lighting, editing, something. I think that's the main difference for me between this movie and something like Bullet Train - the latter doesn't pretend to have any emotional depth at all (as far as i recall) and instead devotes all it's energy in making the film funny and nice to look at.
