Monster
Never have I seen the subject of morality explored with such complexity and nuance in an anime until this series. The character writing undeniably superb. Boasting one of the strongest villains in all of animation and media in general. Never having a character feel wasted or purposeless to the overall story. Its exploration into complex philosophical ideas will have viewers questioning their tenets. This is a series that serves as a benchmark for others to come. What you should aim for when trying to create complex characters with fully realized development. Thoroughly impressive from start to finish, although not without having a few hiccups with pacing.
