My wife recently had me watch this movie, as it was on of her mom's favorite movies. This is an all around cheesey 80s movie, but the plot is insane!!! A woman with amnesia is tricked by a man into thinking she has an entire family with kids. He keeps up this charade for several months. It's an 80s rom com so of course they fall in love in the end, but I can't believe this is something that even exists. The acting is good for what this movie is but the whole lying to someone thing really kept me from enjoying it too much, but the 80s cheeseyness is fun.

This movie was absolutely amazing!!! I've been a diehard Mortal Kombat fan since the first game. I played it in arcades and even tricked my Mom into buying it for me on sega as a kid. I've played every single game ever released in this franchise. I had very mixed feelings about the 2021 movie. But I felt like the people involved with that movie tried some new ideas and even added a new character, but it didn't land right. I was optimistic going into this movie. I had been following it's production and heard from people involved that the makers of the 2021 movie heard the criticism of that one and truly wanted to improve. So just like the original games Mortal Kombat 2 is better than the original!!! This movie is a love letter to all of us diehard fans. If you don't like this movie and you call yourself an mk fan....I don't understand what would make you happy!!! I 1000000000% recommend this movie and call it a flawless victory!!!

To start, this movie is a very sanitized story of Michaels life. I think this movie deliberately stops it's story in the 80s to avoid telling the story about the abusive side of Michael. I seen this in Imax. The songs sound great. My seat was literally shaking to the music and that part was cool. But I still feel like we were missing critical parts of his story prior to even the 90s. No mention of him being in the Oz. No mention of his relationships from the 80s. Janet Jackson isn't even mentioned. They do mention how abusive his father was, but even that felt watered down compared to the real story. The Jackson estate and family had a lot of creative control with this film. They definitely were trying to protect Michaels image more so than anything. Don't expect to get much of any actual events of his life here, it's mostly just about his music.

I had never seen this movie till the other day. My wife had me watch it. I loved it. It was funny and emotional. It's definitely a film of the early 90s but I say that in the most loving way. As a former hockey player myself I found the plot so fun!!! This is definitely a great rom com!
