Lanterns

Just absolutely dissapointing, I like the acting in the show and the castings for John and Hal were good although Hal is a bit old. The entire show they portray Hal as a has been self centered asshole. It beats you over the head to say that John is better than Hal even though he is the most beloved portrayal of green lantern. If they wanted to go the route of having John be the guy, at least make Hal a badass who serves his time. They are doing this slop where all their feats happened off screen. For example don’t get to see Hal and sinestro beef, all of Hal’s achievements that he has accomplished, we just have to be slapped in the middle of this ark. Doesn’t give any continuity in the universe, like Superman is in this world and so are other major heroes yet we still aren’t hearing or doing anything with them. I don’t mind racial or political commentary if done right, but this is just like John is black and has dealt with more and is better because Hal has white privledge, it says it without saying it, although some characters would outright say it, and it’s not bad guys, they are portrayed as doing the right thing, like the grandma, and John’s mom. The suits are lame as hell and don’t give any gravitas, and the lanterns just feel incredibly weak in general. The manhunters completely do a disservice to the comics, the side characters are so mid. There is good to be had though, I like the growing bond between John and Hal, it was a slow burn that had momentum, but it never delivered the goods. On top of it all is it just trashes on the green lanterns that everybody love.
