Dune
Ok I finally got around to watching dune, so let’s get to reviewing. 🍿
Pros:
Character development
The acting
The voice that commands (it sounds so cool when they use it)
Scenery (I felt like I was there with them)
The fits
Actors… timothee chalamet oscar issac and jason momoa in the same room??
The fight scenes
The betrayal was unexpected which is good (you know who you are)
Worm 🪱
Concept of spice is cool
Power dynamics
Funny looking aircrafts
Cons:
Felt a little long (some parts felt like nothing was really happening)
Some uncertainties
The betrayal, again. (only cause the guy seemed so smart yet he didn’t realize he was betraying everyone he knew for nothing) <- tbh idk if it’s a con I just didn’t know what else to put.
Overall:
It’s a really interesting movie with a prominent power dynamic over this spice that I’d be willing to try. (Everyone wants some of that spice clearly). I really liked the character development Paul had throughout the movie. At first he seemed more innocent yet unsure on what he was meant to do with his life. Sure he wanted to help people like Duncan because of a vision he had but he wasn’t ready, he wasn’t “mature” in a sense. Later on throughout the movie he experiences things that sort of force him to adapt to his surroundings and change who he is as a person. It was done beautifully which was a good way to end of the movie. I do want to rewatch it some other time now that I know more about the characters in the movie. That way in the second watch I’ll have a better understanding of what is actually happening and not be left with some uncertainties which I did experience while watching for the first time.
Verdict:
