Animation and Silent Film Lover 3 and Above is Good Anything Below is Bad

Well this was dissapointing David Lynch has been a director I've been very excited to get into as I love abstract avant garde movies, Eraserhead wasn't necessarily bad it was just fine, I don't know what people mean by this movie being confusing some of the symbolism is a little on the nose which isn't too bad it kinda works just not what I was expecting. Like the baby being this disgusting alien I assume it's supposed to represent Henry viewing it as that as he doesn't wanna be a father it's so obvious he after his wife's mom cornered him asking him personal questions and he got forced into a marriage, he was very uncomfortable that whole time and almost this whole movie while also being stressed. I'm just overall not a huge fan of the themes and atmosphere like other films like this I watched, the concept in itself is rather scary being forced to take care of a baby you had no idea about and being forced into a marriage while your wife leaves you alone with that thing I couldn't imagine it. I did find the ending rather disturbing though, it's not a bad movie but it's not good or spectacular just okay and dissapointing for how much I heard about David Lynch.

*This review may contain spoilers.* After putting this movie on the backburner for 2 years Reccomended by a friend i finally watched Christine. Now it was a very serviceable film in John Carpenter's Filmography, The Practical Effects and Soundtrack was real highlights when we're just scratching the surface. Christine being a jealous lover and ready to murder anyone who gets near her and Arnie is a bit of a scary concept for a evil car. This movie has some deep environmental story telling with how Christine unnaturally gets fixed up, in the movie Christine basically gets "broken up" from her original owner who I supposed would symbolize as the lover and Christine like a widow let's herself go and quit caring about her look until she meets Arnie. She starts fixing herself up as a woman would do by putting on makeup to try and look prettier for their lover, and arnie feeds on this newfound confidence he gets with Christine and becomes a totally different person basically. My favorite part here is when Christine is on fire and chases after one of the guys that helped destroy her and kills him almost like a demon straight from hell just mowing someone over. Overall a solid movie with a ending that definitely raises alot of questions.

This was sure interesting definitely not the masterpiece I've seen people claim for it to be, but still good nonetheless this movie has the two titans of classic horror Bela Lugosi who is most known for playing dracula and Boris Karloff who is most known for playing Frankenstein. The story and themes that it has is pretty heavy for 1930s, Boris Karloff plays a satanic occult leader and Bela Lugosi plays a man with PTSD that has a extreme fear of black cats. and I find it so insane how Boris Karloff's Character in the movie stacked his house with black cats to be able to use them to attack Bela Lugosi's character, cause he knew he would come back for revenge for killing his wife and daughter who he ended up lying about killing and married his daughter. And the implied necrophilia this movie shows is fucking heavy for 1934 I've only watched mainly the classic monster movies and it's not like this in terms of having crazy themes. The real highlight in this movie to me is at the end of the film where Bela Lugosi's character skins Boris Karloff's character alive for revenge and it has a creepiness factor to it cause he's laughing so Maniacal and smiling while doing it, overall I reccomend this movie if you're into classic horror its definitely a good one.
