What a delicious film! They truly just don't make films like this any more, the craftmanship from the whole cast and crew was impeccable and Glenn Close was so sexy and villainous I loved every second of it! I can't believe it's taken me this long to see it. My mouth was agape for most of this film, talking to the dog like "...she's surely not...oh my god". The costuming and settings were fantastic, I loved the fashion of this time, I thought the mum looked so cool. I would have been shocked as hell watching this in 1987.

Spontaneous watch to decompress after 400 hours of interview practice. I'm currently reading The Time Travellers Wife so thought it would be thematically similar. I've just checked at The Time Travellers Wife was 2009 so maybe there was something in the air in the late 00s? Rachel McAdams and Domhnall Gleeson hit it out the park. I would genuinely watch them fall in love without the time travel. In fact the time travel is a bit peak to be honest. So many questions, and ultimately feels like a clunky way to get the message "live your life like it's your last day on earth" out. There were certain scenes I felt the director just really wanted in, and the connective tissue between them felt week. And does he just not tell his wife?!?

Complex female characters!! Representation that isn't tokenism!! Weddings!!

Hoe...cum Writing this now under duress from Polly L Jones. I thought this film was okay, but the cinema was too loud. Not to be autistic but once I put my fingers in my ears a little bit it was a lot more enjoyable. Looooved the setting and the Irish folk of it all. Once my man was up in the attic it was really good and really scary, but unfortunately took too long to get there. I also hated that bunny man. One thing that pisses me off is the map from the book was fucking easy to read like we didn't need to get into the bottle to read it we could simply remember that it was a straight line from the circle and I understand that it is a metaphor but fuck off.
