Was really torn on whether or not to give this a 4 or a 5. It’s really really good. But the ending just fell flat for me. Like super flat. The first and second act were SO GOOD. Like the tension was so palpable like nothing I’ve ever seen. The attention to detail was also amazing. Like all the way down to how the characters walked and talked was so realistic to the wresting subculture it was insane.

So gorgeous, bought the pre 1990 vhs with no cgi. The stop motion holograms were so beautiful. Seeing it with no cgi makes it look so campy and beautiful just a work of art from beginning to end.

So good, the writer, the scientist, the girl, the ISLAND. Great movie. Watched it 500 times as a kids and still hits hard today. So touching. Literal definition of a feel good movie. Just noticed thw the lead girl is the same girl from “little miss sunshine” makes it just thw much cuter. Anyways may be the cutest movie I’ve ever seen. Got this movie for the media collection me and erin have been working on. Excelent addition.

Watched this with Erin at a the theater as a double feature with kill bill two. Gotta say this is a movie lovers movie. Definitely made for people who like to watch movies on the big screen. Interesting story line that kept you engaged. Lots of fun action sequences. My only gripes with this movie and they are minor ones is that you can tell that Tarantino is layering on the “Tarantino”ness prettt fuckin thick sometimes it makes you roll your eyes like “ok man we get it your Tarantino”. Also other minor grip is that it didn’t take itself very seriously. Which isn’t that big of a deal I know a lot of people like that it’s not a very serious movie I just personally thought if it took itself a little more seriously I would have given it 5/5. Like it’s a very good fun movie but it could have just been a very very good movie. For me the ridiculous training montage just came off as ridiculous. The iron balls blood point pressure point deal was a little ridiculous and took me out of it. Also the ending was….good? Idk how to say it not very satisfying and kind of like weirdly anticlimactic compared to the rest of the movie. I’m sure there was some meaning or purpose to that but it went over my head I guess (I was kinda drunk, me and erin drank a 12 pack while we were in there). HOWEVER the anime scene at the beginning of the second movie was fucking awesome. I don’t like anime but that was gorgeous oh my god. Dude if the whole movie was in that style it might have been wayyyyyyy better. Anyways I rest my case. Very fun movie. Very iconic. Very iconic cinematography. Story was ok. Over all very fun.
