Goodbye Christopher Robin
“He has to be allowed to grow up, he has to know he’s important to someone, that someone cares about him.….I think you know all this, sir, but you let it go. And that’s not right, a father should stand up for his son. I think I’ve seen you catch his eye and turn away, you can’t turn away anymore.”
Started off by going through a psycho-analysis of the life of a former soldier who participated in the war, who knows exactly what is it like to be in the battlefield setting. Only for him to send his son into wars, for the mother to live all the atrocities again. This movie is brilliant for the way it delves into different themes like relationships, childhood, naming and un-naming, growing, unconsciousness and regional realism. Not to mention, great cinematography and remarkable acting that combined to deliver emotions accurately and just perfectly.
favorite first watch of August so far.
