Megalopolis
I don’t care what anyone says I love this
This is art.
Francis Ford truly is a visionary film maker, no one else could have made this other than the goat of cinema.
For starters I loved the blend of modern day, Ancient Rome and a futuristic utopia. It made for such a cool combination with the costumes, the names of the characters, the architecture, the use of ancient philosophy and so much more.
From a visual standpoint this was marvelous, I was captivated by every single shot. Every frame was filled with so much unique character. The coliseum sequence was one of the coolest I have seen in modern cinema, so much going on, so many cool shots and so much dope lighting. I was captivated throughout it all.
Adam Drivers character of Caesar was so dope. Such a cool character study of obsession. Adam gives a phenomenal performance and truly makes this character.
Also the sound design was so peak. There was always interesting to hear in the background of every shot adding to the experience and depth of every scene
While at times it feels that there isn’t a straightforward cohesive plot, I think that this isn’t always supposed to be. This is one where to experience it more that simply watch it and that’s the beauty of it
Overall I loved this and this is a must watch despite what the haters might say. This proves that Francis Ford still has it and if this is his last film it’s a great one to go out on
