The Shining

Genuinely how it feels to have a job where you don’t work with anyone else. I was definitely surprised by this movie and it ended up being so much deeper than I expected. My favorite part by far was the cinematography. There were so many well lit symmetrical shots that were so perfect that it really added to the unsettling nature of the hotel.  Jack Nicholson and Shelly Duvall had absolutely phenomenal performances, some of the best I’ve seen. The crazy eyes were something else. I would have loved to see more about the actual shining ability but I’m too lazy to read the book so I guess I don’t deserve to know. Shoutout to the costume designer for dressing that kid up like Mario that was funny.
