Hustlers
in 2019, me and a group of my friends decided we wanted to see hustlers. at the time we were sophomores in highschool. they caught us trying to sneak in so we saw frozen 2 instead.
i really wish we could've gotten the experience of watching it in the theatres together. a couple of young hurricanes, our little group of sisters, getting one over the local mall.
i honestly forgot how bad i wanted to see this movie until i randomly came across it on hulu. god, i loved every woman that came on screen. i almost turned it off halfway through because i knew the fallout would be huge and i didn't think i could handle seeing such beautiful relationships fall apart. it's such a poignant exploration of female friendship.
motherhood is a mental illness indeed :(
EDIT BECAUSE I FORGOT TO ADD THIS ORIGINALLY: I think this is the first "period" piece i've ever seen for a time i lived through and let me just say... they ate that. the soundtrack bangs. when i first saw jlo stripping to fiona apple i knew this movie was gonna fucking rock
