Jurassic Park
You did it. You crazy son of a bitch, you did it.
This movie experience is dedicated to the inner child in me.
To the kid that had a big 3D T-rex puzzle figure, a thick book about dinosaurs, and was absolutely stunned when looking at the T-rex skeleton exhibits that one time he went to a dinosaur museum with his parents.
I didn't grow up on movies much, but I still knew about Jurassic Park because of all the merchandise in stores.
So now I have fulfilled something that should've been done some serious years ago.
To me, this film belongs to a specific group of movies that share simplicity as their biggest strength.
A lot of times, simplicity is the best.
It makes it fun, enjoyable, easy to follow, and generally awesome.
So what's not to love about this idea:
A rich guy who figured out how to clone dinosaurs tries to open a park centered around them, but it backfires.
And when thinking about it, there really aren't a lot of movies similar to the Jurassic series.
It's unique and fascinating.
The film is greatly elevated by the dinosaur models and effects.
Although the ones in the meadows don't look that great in today's time, the ones that matter, like the T-rex or the velociraptor, are excellent.
Because of that, this movie reminded me of Jaws, a lot.
I guess Spielberg is really good at making horrors with the freaks of nature.
I mean, the infamous scene where Grant distracts the t-rex with a flare, or the kitchen scene with those velociraptor actually made me tense, and my hands sweat.
And while Grant progressed from hating kids to loving them, Malcolm just got injured in the first incounter and aura farmed the entire movie.
You gotta love it.> - All major theme parks have delays. When they opened Disneyland in 1956, nothing worked!
- Yeah, but, John, if The Pirates of the Caribbean breaks down, the pirates don't eat the tourists.
