Point Break
- This is your fucking wake up call man. I AM AN F-B-I AGENT!
- I know, isn't it wild.This friday was great.
I listened to a lot of Sade songs that were new for me. I already knew her for a long time from the Love Deluxe album and some popular singles. So I got to hear Stronger Than Pride, Promise, and a bit of Diamond Life for the first time. It was an amazing experience, just pure bliss.
Then I watched this movie, cause it seemed quite fun. And I was not wrong.
What also got me partly interested was that Patrick Swayze plays a major role here. Believe it or not, each time the topic of Swayze comes up, my mom always tells me the same story; When we lived in Scotland and I was a little kid, random seniors and strangers on the bus who saw me and learned I was named Patrick often said I looked like the actor. Mind you, I was about 3-5 years old, and now I look nothing like that. But I'm still flattered by it, even now…
So anyway, about the movie:
- I think the mix of crime/heists and surfing works shockingly well.
- It's nice that they dressed up as presidents.
- Johnny Utah is such a silly name, and his whole side of the film was simple, maybe even basic, but entertaining nevertheless.> Fuck it! **[jumps out of a plane with no parachute]**- Both Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze do awesome in their roles. It's kinda similar to A Few Good Men in the way it's split into two dominating and interesting characters.
The unexpected combination of themes makes Point Break stand out in the horde of thriller/action/crime films. And I was most definitely engaged and excited.> *- We'll get him when he comes back in!*
- He's not coming back…
