No one does creepy, dark fairytale like the Czechs! I was hoping I’d like this a little more. Regardless it is more interesting (and wretched)  than the Disney version of this tale. But something about Morgiana, Juraj Herz’ other work from the 70s, pushed the dopamine button for me and this did not as much. I still appreciate “grown up fairytale” as a genre though.
