Poor Things
I did enjoy myself during movie, I can’t deny it.
But I did feel really uncomfortable watching it, I mean the whole child brain thing with all the sex was just sooooo weird ( I understand that she “mâtures” at an accelerated rate). I can see why people perceived it as a feminist movie, but to me it’s not really. I mean I feel like it’s really cliché “strong women” type of thing, during the whole movie she’s shown to only want sex and no emotions which sadly I think a lot of movies portray “strong women” as. And not to be a bitch or anything but I don’t see this whole movie as feminist considering the fact that the book was written by a man and the movie was directed by one.
It really feels like male gaze feminism to me.
