Waves

I could write an essay about this movie but I will shorten it down the best I can. I don’t even know if I should call it a movie, because it is genuinely an experience. The title perfectly sums it up, the emotions crash into you like waves throughout the entire movie, as you go through grief, love, and hatred with the characters. But, the movie focuses on forgiveness. The act of staying calm, and realizing everybody is human, no matter how big of a mistake they make, and finding a way to let go of all the hate to find peace within yourself. I also want to mention the movie itself and not just the story/theme. The cinematography and visuals were amazing, but whoever chose the soundtrack needs an award because the song choices were absolutely perfect. Never thought I’d hear the best Frank Ocean song oat (Siegfried) in a movie, but here we are. Just an incredibly emotional and moving story that was written the best it possibly could have been.
