I definitely have issues with this, it is a mess, and it can’t really stick to its own themes what with the celebration of Hawkgirl murdering a dude. Yes he is a representation of like an evil Israeli president but the whole philosophy of Superman in this very movie makes it very very weird to celebrate the death of anybody lmao, it was very clear James Gunn wanted to say “Fuck Israel!” In the loudest way possible which I respect but again it really goes against your main character’s… character. Lmao.  However, this movie has some amazing fucking moments. It looks amazing most of the time and there’s so many great scenes where the heart is on full display, and there’s really great action. Some of the most fun I’ve had with a superhero movie in a while. Fuck Israel btw. I’m just bothered by a director who can’t stick to his themes.

A semi incestual family of elites run a corrupt organ donation company that use a mentally ill single father to repossess the organs they give out by cutting them out of the owner, and this is all conveyed to us through comic book reading backstory sections and dialogue that is 90% musical with rock, emo, and opera songs.  Maybe the best worst movie I’ve ever seen, it’s so unlike anything I’ve ever seen and it never once tries to be anything it isn’t and it’s fucking awesome.
