Whenever I look up on TikTok “Best movies,” this movie usually gets a few mentions here and there. I decided to give it a try without really knowing any details about it from the start. I found the intro to the movie to be very intriguing and hooking. Immediately you can see how the personality and opinions of Tony will deal with the connection with Don Shirley. Originally when I saw that their journey would be about music, I didn’t think I would like the movie. However, it found a nice balance between music and their lives. This movie does an extremely good job of showing how the lives of so many colored people differs from those of white people during this time. They display it in a way that makes you feel lots of sympathy for Dr. Shirley and the hardships he’s gone through. Overall, this movie is a good watch if you’re just looking for a chill time spender. It doesn’t get your heart racing, or feel overdramatic, it is a chill story of 2 guys with very different personalities becoming partners over a period of time. Good movie, 8/10
