The economics are not at all at focus, doesn’t criticize the concept of a house servant
Paints Fermín as the bad guy (not wanting the baby and being part of the guys with the guns during the student massacre)
Really well shot and makes audience marvel at the scenery which also takes focus away from the horrible nature of house servant work
It was sad tho when they said it’ll make cleo feel better to go on the family vacation and keep helping them and she’s reluctant but is basically forced to go even after what happened to her baby (also when she cried and opened up that she didn’t want the baby and the mom said we love you so much even tho she’ll always be their servant and nothing more)
They make it seem like the student massacre is the reason for them being late to the hospital and the baby dying i don’t think it’s necessary to include this historical contextualization in the film
More so about feminism and the problems with how men treat women than economic problems which i feel like isn’t powerful because of the context
