Beautiful story, cinematography, characters, set etc. but boy was that cgi sometimes REALLY cgi-ing. Definitely asks you to suspend your disbelief as well sometime. Don’t get me wrong do I believe that the world’s governments would do anything to squeeze one more drop of production out of the earth, and believe in a miracle chemical and dump so much of it into the atmosphere that the world freezes over, yeah definitely. Do I think that people will take any drop of power/superiority to be content and think they’re better then others absolutely, but people definitely survive what should kill them a couple times, and Wilford just believes Curtis will take over for him no problem and not create anarchy.  Also, this is where that image comes from!
