I’m not ashamed to say that within the first 5 minutes, I was already wiping away tears.Not your typical coming of age story. But damn has it just became my new favorite.Thelma looks incredibly similar to my own Dominican grandmother but has my mother written all over it. And maybe that is the reason why I could not help myself from crying all the way through this. Getting old and getting to see the effects it has on not just you and your body but your love ones is the most terrifying thing living creatures have to experience but it’s what we all have in common. This was wonderfully told. It doesn’t feel heavy and that reason being for it’s comedy and I just have to say that this has to be the funniest movie I’ve seen all year so far and it instantly made its way to my top 3 movies of this year.
