The Curse
I finished this about 2 weeks ago, and didn’t realize it had a letterbox until now.
All I can say is that for a television show this is one of the few times I’ve been totally impressed on a pieces subversion of television tropes. The plot takes a backseat to character and morality, which the show does a remarkable job at slowly building on throughout the entire season. This slow build for most may seem boring or have you asking “what is going on” but if you focus on the small details and really sit in the situations with the characters this show’s drama is some of the best I’ve ever seen on television.
The performances are amazing, the camera work is unsettling, and the score adds to the entire thrill of rhe whole show.
There’s so much to say positively about this show, and although for some the ending may not be appreciated, for me I was so excited to see the culmination of the realism-surrealism divide the show was building up from the beginning pay off into a substantial and unforgettable scene.
10/10 would recommend on this one.
