This movie is 100% the most interesting film I’ve seen both cinematically and conceptually. Its animation is vibrant, the detail is just astonishing, and every scene was so packed with emotion in the detail, dialogue, and context. From beginning to end, I was kept practically glued to the screen because of how complex and intricate the plot was, even for what felt like was going to be a simple movie. And that intricacy created this perfect type of film where you can’t really even predict what the next scene will be, it’s unpredictable in such a fantastic way. And the utilization of human emotion and perception to create such a hard impact was incredible. The movie uses comfort and discomfort, familiarity and unfamiliarity, reality and abstraction, and so much more to drive the plot and the characters to the limit of film making. The characters were wonderfully written, each having their own design that connected to their personality. Now, I would be lying if I said that I completely understood the movie the entire way through, multiple times I was left confused by a scene or a line of dialogue. But, the confusion only prompted more deep thinking, and a movie that can prompt deep thinking the way this one did is a spectacle of cinema. Truly amazing, that’s all I have to say in the end. If you have 1 and a half hours to spare, please watch this movie, it’s amazing.
