i can’t tell if im so fucking high but am i tripping or is there no pacing and is the music like weirdly unusually unfitting?? anyways this is lowkey exactly how it felt to be adopted into the 8th floor gang. on god i witnessed my boys santa bong do this to him one night

zendaya holding a rifle in bed is something i did not know i needed to see, but i thank god that i did. zendaya and robert are both such incredible actors. they made the dialogue feel so natural and real. it almost felt as if they were playing themselves, particularly with robert. however, i do think this caused issues, as they really didn’t have any chemistry in my opinion. it just doesn’t seem like there’s a world in which they’re ever a couple. i honestly didn’t like the intro/first ten minutes of the movie. it felt weird and choppy, and i wasn’t getting hooked. the audio was also weird - i understand what they were trying to do, but the whole silence thing was overdone. the audio was all i could focus on for a bit. visually, it was so stunning. super cool to look at. i enjoyed how much movement the camera had in certain scenes, like the dance. this movie also did an incredible job building tension. after the weird audio in the intro, i really liked the music and how anxiety inducing it was. seeing the movie in theatres definitely added to that. overall, i liked it. it’s one of those movies that has you leaving feeling sort of shocked, which i always love.

*You don’t look like you were printed out. You’re just a person. * While this movie seems comedic at first in the tone and dialogue, it is much deeper than that when you really analyze it. As technology becomes increasingly capable of replicating human life, questions about identity and individuality become more urgent. In Mickey 17, the repeated cloning of the protagonist challenges the idea of a stable and singular human self. Robert Pattinson. as always, was great in this role. His range is really something else. Mark Ruffalo, however.. I didn’t enjoy his acting in this. I understand he’s supposed to be sort of insufferable, but it was a bit too hard to watch. One thing I really enjoyed about this film was the pacing. Even though it was a bit lengthy, it didn’t seem this way. Time passed quickly, and I was thoroughly invested the whole time. Excellent flying triangle choke from Nasha at the end. Love to see it.
