i was very positively surprised by this movie, and incredibly relieved by the lack of multiversal threats. i haven’t watched recent marvel movies, and i didn’t have to to follow the film‘s story without problems. some other marvel characters appeared, but the dynamic with the punisher for example was actually really enjoyable, and it didn’t feel like a cameo-fest to me.  i do so love a friendly neighbourhood spider-man.  i thought the scene where they paralleled jean and peter with aunt may was really beautifully done (among other pretty strong character moments!) i‘ll probably watch this one again!

funny to watch with somebody else, but it doesn’t really hold up as an adaptation (or as a film in general to be honest). way too much is happening, and the exposition is pretty clunky quite often (=we just watch faces while we get internal dialogue narrated for example lol)

ludwig göransson is really really good.
